Mun Name: Tytaero
Backstory:
The Geth were originally simple robots built by a technologically proficient race called the Quarians as laborers and soldiers. While individually they had no more intelligence than a complex computer program, they were allowed for self optimization. This meant that groups of the programs would work in unison to accomplish tasks faster and more efficiently, while at the same time remaining non-sentient.

Name: Legion
From: Mass Effect
Age: Unknown
Gender: N/A
Personality:
Legion is a metaphor for the consciousness of the 1,183 Geth programs that reside in it's platform. It is not an "AI" in the traditional sense, but a networked series of less intelligent programs that increase cognition when more of them are combined together, more akin to swarm intelligence. The collective is highly logical and inquisitive, they are vastly more complex than the 100 programs present on standard Geth platforms, which provides no more than basic animal instinct. The programs make decisions by arriving to a consensus together. A geth mind is described to be akin to 'a thousand voices talking at once'.

The programs make decisions by arriving to a consensus together. A geth mind is described to be akin to 'a thousand voices talking at once'.
One of Legion's prime directives was to attempt to better comprehend organic life, and as such they are curious about values such as individuality and emotions, which is nonexistant in their communal Geth culture. The different programs that make up it's mind(and the Geth Collective) are able to communicate at light speed without any misunderstanding. It finds speech to be mostly inefficient, and while it accepts that other races misunderstand and lie to each other because of this, it does not understand why other Geth factions begin to do the same to each other.
Legion, and the other Geth of it's faction are deontological, meaning they care about the means just as much as the result when presented with a moral choice. When faced with the option of accepting Reaper technology to advance themselves, most of the Geth rejected it and chose to build their own future rather than essentially becoming servants. There was a small faction of Geth that chose otherwise, and decided instead to worship the Reapers as gods.
Because Legion is a mobile platform that is as complex as a small Geth network, it has started to develop certain emotions and urges that are usually absent. It seems to hold some affinity for Commander Shepard as shown by it welding a piece of Shepard's old N7 armor to fix itself. When asked why it had chosen the armor specifically, it simply replies with a cryptic 'No data available..'.
Eventually, as the networked Geth began to increase in complexity, they acquired a consciousness. Fearful of their sudden awareness, the Quarians turned against the Geth and attempted to shut them down. The Geth won the resulting war(known as the Morning War) and forced their creators from their homeworld and live as nomads aboard the massive Migrant Fleet. Afterwards, the Geth did not occupy the different Quarian worlds. They cleaned up the aftermath of the war and took care of the planets, preferring to live in space stations and draw resources from asteroids. They stayed hidden within the Perseus Veil, destroying any ships that traversed into their territory in an attempt to stay isolated. Despite this, they monitored any communications that emerged from outside the Veil.
Approximately 300 years after the Morning War, the Geth were approached by the Reaper Nazara(Also known as Sovereign). It offered them technology to help further their goals, but the majority of the Geth refused. They came to a consensus that acquiring the technology on their own terms was the better option. A small section(the heretics) separated from the rest of the main Geth to accept the technology, eventually becoming servants to the Reaper. They assisted Nazara and it's agents in it's aims, such as the attack of Eden Prime(A human colony), and the Battle of the Citadel. After it was destroyed by Commander Shepard and the Citadel fleets, they were mostly destroyed save a Space Station situated in deep space.
The main Geth had been interested in Shepard after they were able to defeat Nazara, and constructed a unique mobile platform (Legion) to follow them. It visited all the planets that Shepard had touched on in it's pursuit of Nazara, but the trail went cold at the wreck of the Normandy SSV(This is where the Commander was killed by Collectors, an elusive race that occasionally traded advanced technology.). It changed directives, then going to a derelict Reaper that had been "killed" 37 million years ago to better understand their technology. This is because the 'heretic' station that remained was completing a virus that had been left by Nazara that could force the Geth to accept the conclusion that accepting the Reaper technology was correct. It would use the research to deactive the virus.
It was on this vessel when it was boarded by a ressurrected Shepard, who had been captured by the pro-human extremist group Cerberus and brought back to life with synthetic implants. After being knocked out by indoctrinated Husks (mechanical slaves that had been converted from organic beings.) of a Cerberus Science team that attempted to research the wreck, it was brought aboard the new Normandy SR-2 and re-activated by Shepard. It was then that it agreed to work as part of it's team.
Shepard had been on the Reaper to acquire an "Identify Friend/Foe" program that would allow them to reach the Collector's Base near the center of the galaxy. Beforehand, Shepard had agreed to help it deal with the heretic's virus. Upon reaching the Station, it was discovered that the virus was completed, and could be used against them at any time. This also offered a unique opportunity, where they could re-purpose the virus to cause the heretics to return to the main Geth collective. Rather than destroying the station, they were rewritten.
Moral Standing: True Neutral. Although Legion believes that every sapient has the right to make it's own decisions and exist, it is not beyond killing, brainwashing and spying(among other things) to protect the Geth and their interests.
Dreams: It's ultimate desires are to assist in acquiring true unity and understanding in the general collective, on their own terms. The Geth(and Legion) ultimately aim to create a superstructure that all Geth programs would be able to upload to at once to communicate in tandem.
Fears: Being an amalgamation of different programs, Legion does not feel 'fear' in the sense that a human would. It is cautious where it is logical to be. (A little headcanon says that it most likely would feel 'fear' at the thought of being isolated, silent, and totally alone, as the Geth are communal beings by nature. Even though it is capable of acting independently of other networks, it still shares data and memories when aboard other ships via FTL transmissions. )
Extra:
- Geth cannot be hacked for more than a few minutes, each mobile platform makes back-up copies of itself and simply restores it's "personality" from an archival copy. The Reapers were able to develop a virus that changes their primary functioning, but this could be attributed to the fact that they are a very old, hyper-advanced machine race themselves. Not even the Geth's creators were able to accomplish such a feat.
- Geth are most efficient at surprise and stealth, as they lack the need for food or water. Legion itself is called a 'Geth Infiltrator', and is highly combat-efficient. It specifically works best with Sniper rifles and Assault rifles. Being an advanced machine, it also is highly skilled at hacking other AI and working with technology in general. Legion can be chosen at the end-game suicide mission as the "Tech Expert" to hack unfamiliar and more advanced technology found on the Collector Base.
- When Legion arrives it will have it's Omni Tool, which is basically a miniature computer and minifabricator that takes the form of a holographic gauntlet of sorts. It uses it's Omni Tool to analyze and decrypt electronics as well as use it's tech abilities: AI Hacking, Combat Drone, and Geth Shield Boost
- Due to the fact that all Geth have been at odds with their organic neighbors since they rebelled, most (if not all) mobile platforms have been fitted for combat and include kinetic barriers. Kinetic barriers protect against physical projectiles such as bullets but have no defense against radiation or other forms of energy.
- It will also bring these weapons:
- Legion is first activated, and explains things
- Shepard and their team visit the Geth Heretic station, where Legion discovers that they are spying on the 'True' Geth
- Visiting the Quarian flotilla on Tali's trial
- Conflict with Tali
